Departure Day Checklist

Thank you so much for staying! The New House is shared by many family members throughout the season, and a few simple things before you leave make a big difference for housekeeping and for the family arriving next.

Before you leave, please help our housekeeping staff by taking care of a few things:

  • Strip the beds and leave used sheets and towels neatly at the foot of each bed. Duvet covers and pillow shams may remain in place.

  • Empty any smelly garbage from bedroom or bathroom bins into the kitchen garbage.

  • Take the garbage out to the bins in the room to the right of the garage.

  • Fill and run the dishwasher.

  • Replace the grill cover.

  • Return toys, bikes, water gear, and other equipment to their proper places in the garage.

  • Return baby equipment to the second-floor baby closet.

  • Return borrowed cowboy boots and hats to the Main Cabin — boots to the basement and hats to the front hallway.

  • Report any problems, damage, or maintenance needs so they can be addressed before the next family arrives.

No need to start any laundry. Housekeeping would prefer to handle the washing themselves.
